2009 WINE FESTIVAL TICKETS ON SALE 9:30 AM
TUESDAY, JANUARY 27, 2009(Vancouver, BC…) Consumer tickets for the 31st annual Vancouver Playhouse International Wine Festival go on sale on Tuesday, January 27 at 9:30am. Tickets may be purchased in person at 127 East 2nd Avenue in Vancouver or by calling the box office at 604-873-3311. Select events are also available online through www.playhousewinefest.com. Trade tickets go on sale February 3 at 9:30am. The Vancouver Playhouse International Wine Festival, one of the biggest and oldest wine events in the world, runs from March 23 to 29, 2009 at the Vancouver Convention & Exhibition Centre. The 2009 Wine Festival will feature 183 wineries from 15 countries serving more than 1700 wines at 61 events. Producers expect approximately 25,000 consumers and trade professionals to attend the festival, which will celebrate the wines of British Columbia as the theme region and Pinot(s) as the global focus.The heart of the festival is the International Festival Tasting Room at the Vancouver Convention & Exhibition Centre, where 723 wines are available for sampling, with close to 1000 more being served at special events including a gala auction, wine seminars, trade events, and food and wine pairing affairs such as winery dinners, lunches and brunches at 33 top Vancouver restaurants and hotels.--30--
