20th Annual Quady Dessert Competition
Pastry chefs and cooks are invited to enter the Quady Dessert Competition, which brings a delicious touch to the Playhouse Winefest for the 20th consecutive year! The competition is judged by respected chefs and food media, and the finalists’ creations are showcased at the popular Annual Awards Luncheon for trade professionals on Friday, February 29th. This year entrants will be judged on how well their original creation pairs with Quady's Batch 88 Starboard - a port style wine, as well as presentation, technique and practicality. The winner receives a trip for two to the high Sierra Mountains in California, and results are widely publicized. The deadline for entry was February 9 and the competition took place Feburary 16 / 17 2008. See www.planitbc.com for more details.

The top 10 finalists will receive special recognition. The Gold, Silver and Bronze winners are required to attend this luncheon to showcase their desserts and establishments at the Quady Winery display table. No desserts will be served to guests at the luncheon - presentation plates only, please. It is requested that finalists’ establishments, where appropriate (i.e. not schools, but all others), feature their winning desserts paired with Quady Starboard Batch 88 for the month of March 2008.
